Lacawac Sanctuary Day Camp Counselor in Training (CIT) Program provides volunteers the opportunity to gain confidence and skills through service and leadership training.

The 2026 CIT Application is now open for the 2026 camp season!

The CIT Program Includes

  • Orientation and Camp Staff Training.
  • Designated staff to supervise and mentor.
  • Invitation to lead activities that support our campers through play, discovery, and creation.
  • Priority week and group requests given to returning CIT’s

CIT Requirements ​​

  • Enthusiastically participate in all program activities with children.
  • Actively promote an environment that is safe and fun for all children in the program.
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of each day’s program.
  • Must be able to be at camp from 8:40AM – 3:45PM every day.

CIT Qualifications

  • Volunteers must be between the ages of 13 and 17 years.
  • Strong interest and enthusiasm for the outdoors and sharing nature and the environment with children.
  • Must be able to commit to a full week of a given camp.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from camp.
